Brake noise question
I have changed my master cylinder and upgraded the brake lines to Stainless Steel. I have everything set up correct, but I noticed when I get in my car the morning after it has been sitting for awhile and when I press the brakes I can hear a loud "thudd" sound coming from the front calipers. Does anyone know what this might be? Are the Stainless Steel brakes lines producing to much pressure that when I apply the brakes the calipers are coming out to fast? Has anyone had this problem before?
Yes the thud will only happen for the first initial press of the brake and then there after will be silent. My only opinion of what could be the problem is that the brake lines produce too much pressure that the brake piston shoots out for the first time. Anyone else know what might be happening?
Does it do this when you step on the brakes BEFORE you ever move the car, or does the car have to be moving?
Something (piston, pads, caliper slide pins?) is stuck in place with a little rust or something. You're breaking it loose when you first step on the brakes.
