Default brake help

Hey guys, I got my AEM Big Brake kit put on about a month and a half ago.

The past week, my steering wheel has been shaking real bad when I brake.

I had a shop install these for me. Is it their fault or what is it?

PLEASE HELP ASAP!

Thanks

It's possible that they have become misaligned. I don't know if the AEM brakes are prone to warping or not but that could also be the problem.

The braking surface of the rotor gets shaped like a potato chip. When you brake the caliper and pads try to follow this shape and wobble back and forth. Unless you have been racing the car, I would find it hard to believe they are warped. They may just have a buildup of pad material that transferred unevenly. You could try having the rotors turned to see if that cures it. If it is warping, turning could take enough material off the rotors that they will warp again even easier. Being as the rotors are so new, I would suggest discussing it with AEM and see what they have to say. Myabe they had a bad batch or have seen the problem before and can suggest a solution.

when u got yoru brake upgrade done how fast were u driving when u first got them installed. reason y im asking is cuz there is a what u call a break in period for the brake. when eva u get new brakes or a new set up you shouldnt take the car up to exxcessive speeds like no more that 65mphs. because the bakes have to break in properly and seat correctly good luck man

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.
I took the car to a Brake shop and they said it was probably "warping".... or maybe alignment

Then I took it to two more shops and the guys said that they were not sure about aftermarket brakes and did not want to be liable if they messed them up.

I think I WILL CONTACT AEM and SEE whats up... Thanks guys

I'll keep u guys updated on what it is...
