Brake fluid question for random idea of mine
Just wondering if anyone in here would know if adding a few drops of food coloring to a new bottle of brake fluid might change the chemical composition of the brake fluid and make it less effective.
I dont think a few drops of color would really effect the ability of the fluid to work well in the system, but I would like to be sure.
Thanks for the help.

I thought of the idea one night while doing a brake system flush. New valvoline and old valvoline look surprisingly similar. Yes, you can see the difference, but if you were able to change the color of the fluid it would make things much easier. However, after a few more minutes of thought, I think it is a stupid idea.
But I'd like to know if it would still affect the fluid in any adverse way. Just out of curiosity.

True. Brake fluid degrades just from the moisture it absorbs from the air. You wanna add MORE? On PURPOSE??

Supermods, it's a really good idea you have, but ATE didn't use water-based dye.
