Default Brake Calliper Paint!

Is it true that when you paint your callipers they retain heat more than if they were not painted.

Yes. Heat dissipating paint or coating is better.

what are you after? performance or looks?

looks- the paint will chip and flake

performance- there is none

do a big brake kit, or just leave it stock.

This company sells a caliper painting kit that is suposed to be resistant to chipping, and heat and has a high gloss finish.

No offense but, what's the point of "going" for the big brake look then? OK, so you're not pushing big power, why even bother painting them at all?

Yes, there is heat resistant paint for brake calipers, you can buy it at your local auto parts store (or at least you can where I live, I dunno about anywhere else). I have never heard of the calipers retaining more heat when they are painted, I suppose this might be true. But then again, if you're worried about that then you'd better switch to a big brake kit.
