boring and sleeving b18c please help me
K since people in delaware told me they wouldn't do work on my b18c1 because it was a vtec engine wtf is that by the way...im lost and I need major help so I can find a good machine shop and get my engine in my car the way i want it to be.
1) can someone hook me up with a site about boring engines and sleeving them as well or someone to talk to about this.
2) I know sleeving the engine is good because it makes the cylinders have a sleeve of iron on them right? So my question is do you bore out engine then sleeve it and then bore out sleeve? I'm sorta confused about process help.
3) what i really want to do is take my stock b18c1 usdm and bore it out to a 2.0 engine that is sleeved so it can take a good amount of boost...so can someone tell me the specs I need to look for and what size pistons i need...i want to use 9:1 pistons. I'm not sure about measurements for this stuff and its my first time doing this so I'm kinda of nervous ordering any parts for the engine till I'm sure it will work.
I need the following:
springs
retainers
valves
9:1 pistions
connecting rods
sleeves
can anyone help me walk through on what to buy to make it work with a 2.0l b18c? I really need help understand this stuff better. I mean the brake conversion and suspension was easy now I'm starting to get a little confused with this stuff. Thanks
DEF
so if anyone wants to message me and help pick out parts and so fourth or explain some info indepth that would be great...maybe a website to read.

Okay first don't worry about VTEC.... It's not really that complicated... If you search on it you'll see lots of post... hehe I'm not bitchin at you i just don't really feel like writin it all out... To get pretty close to a 2.0L with a B18C through boring you are gonna have to take it up to ~84-85mm at 85 you have roughly a 1.98L which is what most people will stick with... I personally would just go to 84 and leave an extra 1mm of sleeve for more boost... I would definately check into Golden Eagle... They do awesome work... http://www.goldeneaglemfg.com/sleeves.htm This is basically my friend's GSR turbo setup that pushes 505hp to the ground... Anyways it has JE 9.0:1 84mm slugs, Crower rods and that makes up the bottom end... He doesn't have the standard GE sleeves he runs the Godzilla's which are ment for high boost apps. For the head I would recommend Portflow... Tom there does beautiful work... http://www.portflow.com He can hook you up with all the valvetrain components too... Then you are gonna figure out what turbo you want.... All of my friend's running boost run RevHard kits with custom turbos.... We were running a straight T04 on the 505whp GSR/EK but the alternator belt snapped on the dyno and a little tiny piece was sucked into the turbo bending the compressor.... After that it was only boostin to 22lbs... That's okay tho cuz that's all he wanted to boost... Before it kept overboosting to ~28lbs. Anyways now my friend just built a new GSR turbo motor for another EK it's gonna run a T04X^2 turbo and squeeze and be daily driven.. My friend's 505whp EK is daily driven too and rolls around on 22lbs. He just sold his EK and is movin the motor into an EG with a new turbo... I can't wait till the turbo/nitrous motor comes out but the motor just got assembled the other day so it is gonna be a while.... I'll take some pics sometime once we get it in... Hope I helped you some what.. hehe... Peace

thank you so much i think that cleared up alot of stuff up...so what is the bore on the gsr stock? if 84 would be how much over? I'm not sure what to tell them when they go to bore it out how many hundreths do i tell them to bore it out? Thats the sorta of stuff I need to know.

Stock bore is actually 81mm for all B series except the B20B/Z which comes in 84mm.... I'm not positive on this because i normally always just work in metric but lets consider this.... there are 2.54cm in 1 inch... therefore if you divide 1inch by 25.4mm's then you have 1mm is = to .0393700787inches... Hope this makes sense... And you probably already figured this out but the difference in bore is only 3mm to take it up to a ~1.93L.... It's gonna be a bit less than a B20B/Z or B18A/B because of the B18C's shorter stroke... which is 1.8mm less than the non VTEC motors above... An 85mm bore B18C is actually bigger than a stock B20 at ~1.98L where as the CRV is 1.97L.... I still would just keep it at 84mm.... Peace
