bolt crossthread problem..
hi guys,
im having trouble with the bolt that connects the brake hub to the lower control arm.. the bolt that attaches the balljoint thats such a pain in the *** to get off... as i was bolting it backup or trying.. the nut started spinning the entire bolt.. it seems to be caught on one of the threads and isnt going anywhere,, is there anyway to hold down the bolt to try and get past those threads?.. thanks any help would be great..

Is any part of the bolt already through the nut that you could get some vice grips on? If not try holding it up higher, I remember that bolt being reasonably long so you should have room at some point.
Are the threads on the ball joint free or dirt and debris? How about the nut?
Stew's ideaa of using the jack to put a little pressure between the parts would be the next best place to turn. The ball joint itself is supposed to be free to move in any direction. You just need to create enough friction between the LCA and the tapered section of the ball joint so that you can snug the nut up.
