BMW 325i - need help pls
Sorry I know this isn't Honda related but I needed some help. I've got this BMW 325i that won't start. I recharged the battery at Sears and now the electronics work. But when I try to start the car there is just a loud clicking noise. Sounds like electricity is either arching or the spark plugs may be going off. The problem is there is no combustion going on when the car tries to start. You can clearly see the pulleys aren't turning at all. So it looks like it doesn't crank over at all.
So if it sounds like the spark plugs are working maybe it is a fuel problem? I am going to check it again today in the light, maybe I missed something. Don't think any of the dash lights were on but I'll report what I find and maybe you guys can help.
I don't know if this has to do with the problem but the battery apperantly dies if the car isn't driven for a few days. Which is the reason I had to get it recharged. If anything I would blame the alternator but I doubt it would cause the car not to crank.

with the ignition off and the battery charged disconnect the neg batt cable and connect a test light between the neg batt post and the neg cable if it lights you have something draining your battery. then from the start pulling fuses untill the light turns off and fix that short. you may find your problem there. Remember turn every thing of first and if you have an alarm pull the fuse for that also.
Figured I would give an update just to give this thread some closure.
I pulled the alternator and had it tested. Tested fine. Put it back in and made the belt a bit tighter. Connections cleaned. Today the batter seems fine, car drives good. Checked the fuses and the fuses for the interior lighting etc. were sucking up power but it went off. Took out the alternator and really cleaned it this time and the car still seems to be ok. So hopefully within a few days I'll know whether it is working or not.
