Default blown headgasket

99 Accord F23A1

OK my head gasket blew, massive ammounts of oil in my coolant, but no real signs of coolant in my oil. I pulled the head and I checked for warpage with a straightedge. no signs of it though spark plugs and exhaust valves are white though. so they are definately too hot.

could the excessive heat cause the headgasket to blow without warping the head?

Should I get the head machined anyway? I need the car monday to go to work and I doubt I'll be able to find somebody to do it between now and then, so I'd rather not if it's safe.

If it gets too hot it can warp. It would be safe to mill a few thousands off just to make sure.

gaskets blow for a reason if you dont get whatever it was that caused it to blow it will happen again .

well, if you have oil in your radiator coolant, you'd better flush it out. but yes, it can warp.

No, I'm saying that the head doesn't seem warped. I checked it with a straight edge and a feeler gauge like the Helms says to and it's well within spec. I'm asking if a headgasket can blow WITHOUT the head being warped. IF the head isn't warped then there doesn't seem to be any reason to go get it milled, especially since I'll have to take a day off work to get it done.
