i have a 95 civic ex and on this past saturday evening i sucked water up through my aem cold air intake and hydrolocked my motor. (this isnt the bad part) monday morning at work, i pulled the spark plugs out, spun the motor over to clear out the water and put the dry plugs back in. It took a while but i got the car cranked but a horrible knock was evident immediately, my guess was a rod bearing.....i then starting to rev the engine a little to see if the knock would clear up as if it were just carbon knocked loose on the piston.......long story short i now have a softball sized hole in my block. I just bought a d16y8 out of a 98 civic ex cheap to swap in its place

my question is..........what will need to be change, ive heard so much about the obd1-obd2 conversion. so will i need a new harness, can i swap the dist internals or what

any help will be greatly appreciated

the d16y8 will be easy to convert to obd1...

You may use your intake manifold off the z6 as well as the fuel injectors, and everything else bolt up to the y8 long block.

you can also use the distributor if you wish off the z6 and transfer that to the y8,

and just use your d16z6 engine harness onto the new d16y8 and plug everything right up and you are done.
