lots of people do it,

pros- looks good

cons- couldnt think of any...

do it silver if you want the clean look and have a clean engine bay...

do it black if you dont want to see oil all over the place...

my block is painted silver

Only problem with that is, if you have an oil spill you won't see it.

I know some people with blue blocks in Preludes to match the blue Type S valve cover. They've never had a problem with the paint chipping or fading or anything.

instead of regular engine paint, go to a machine shop and get a can of paint thats called Glass Bead. It goes on very thin and covers great, you can also paint your tranny with it so that it wont overheat like it would with regular paint. It discharges heat better. With one can i painted my block, tranny and manifold and still had a little bit left in the can.

im not sure if they sell it at the parts store but any machine shop should have it, if not they can get it for you. Try to get that before regular paint. Its only like $7 a can.
