Default block help plzzzz

ok so my b20 exploded

eagle h rod went through the block. pistons are more than likely done. all rods bent. crank is unknown in condition

i have a bare gsr block and was wondering if i could use the b20 crank, bore it out to 84mm and get new pistons and rods for b20 spec. can this be done without a problem or do i need to buy a new b20 block?

i know the deck height is only a slight difference. i dont really know much about stroke but i know theyre different. is that just bc the pistons/rods?

also would i still be able to use b20 rod bearings or would i use the gsr?

getting a gsr block to 84mm would require sleeves.

Too much boring, not enough cylinder wall thickness.

what difference does the wall thickness mean from boring it??? of course you could bore it to 84mm. im not asking about the bore. the crv block is already 84mm. they are essentially the same blocks, just different bores.

people telling me things i already know and not what im actually asking

"the crv block is already 84mm."

The block is not really 84, but the cylinder bore is. It is an insert to the block. That is why people say resleeve, or recylinder to get the 84.

what? of course not the block itself

isnt a b20 just a larger bore ls? its supposed to be identical for the most part. what difference would it make for the gsr

well? what difference is it? dont be smart asses. if you have a legitimate reason tell me

why cant i bore it if the blocks are all essentially the same, minus the squirters and girdle in gsr and the difference in stroke and bore? im sure the walls are still the same thickness as a b20 if you bore it. b20 walls are thin as it is. b20s are reliable it was just a dumb call on my part to max it out for a bit of a distance. so if you are telling me that the walls are too thin just bc its 84mm it doesnt help my question.

Not trying to give you a bad time, but explain. You will get 84mm in the b18 at about the outer edge of the cylinder wall, not enough left for strength, and the b20 starts at 84 and then has an appropriate wall thickness left. It is a different cylinder or sleeve in the block to start with.
