Default Block guards??

having trouble deciding on which block guard to use on a B-series.... anybody have any recomendations?...how bout some opinions on the KMS engineering block guard, ive had an eye for that particular one considering they go for a good price....

How much power are you planning on making? Stock B-series blocks can take a lot of power.

I've always been a bit leary of KMS because they made a name for themselves through ebay. That's never a good sign.

Oh, and blockgaurds in general are obsolete.

its a high compression all motor project, so as far as whp im hopin for bout 230-40 max with my set up......
i figure a block guard would be a good necessity to have considering for what they claim to do, and for the price; 50 bucks couldnt hurt.
so shepherd says theyre obsolete; why? also...what would you recomend over KMS?..... block guard: or

For that kind of horsepower you do not need a block guard. The block guard will probably cause more harm than good, especially in terms of the cooling system. Spend that $50 on something else.

right on, i was thinkin the same; if any harm, it would be a factor in coolant flow problems.
