Default Black smoke

just wanted to get some quick response and i did search most of the articles on here helped me out but, i still had my doubts.

well i recently built my engine, and im throwing black smoke when i step on the gas hard, and i also burn alot! of oil..

what should i do? My engine right now is untuned, could tuning it make me not run rich no more and not throw black smoke??

and about the oil consumption what shoult i do a compression test or a leakdown test.. thanks guys..

Do both. A compression and a leakdown test.

i really hope that it hs nothing to do with the piston rings but from what i researched it it were the piston rings wouldnt it be blue smoke??

so i think from what i gather could be the valve seals?
