Default a black piston

just need a secound opionion i opened my engine up today to do the normal **** head gasket valve cover gasket cam seal and i found i think number 1 piston was dark black and wet like if it hasnt been fireing any leads as to wut it could be would really help me out

Number 4 looks clean to me. That's number 1, that looks like maybe oil on there, but not positive.

shut up pot head.

Looks like it wasnt burning all the fuel on that cylinder or the head gasket was letting oil in on the piston

What was your reason for taking it apart? Was it running fine when you parked it? Did you spill oil or a small amount of water when taking the head off? Never heard of anyone just changing the head gasket for the hell of it when the cars running fine. Ever heard if its not broke don't fix it?
