Default black oil pans

is there any perticular reason why oil pans are black? im wondering because i would like to either polish my oil pan or have it powdercoated? would that be possible? thanks

Moroso makes an aluminum oil pan thats shiny polished or something.

Its probably because black absorbs heat fast than other colors. obd2 ex's have cast aluminum pans though.
