You wouldn't be able to do a 3mm overbore without resleeving. All that is recommended is at most a .020" overbore which is about .5mm. You could maybe get away with a .030" or .040" overbore on stock sleeves though. It's not going to make a huge power difference. Boring out the stock sleeves is usually done just to get fresh cylinder wall there. The extra power is just a bonus. My Y8 has a .020" overbore, which makes it go from 1590cc to 1612cc.
