Default Big Horse Power

This may sound like a noob question and Im not sure if this is the place to post this. But I want to know what the most hp you have ever herd of being produced by a honda 4cylinder. I have seen some numbers in the 800's but never any higher than 851whp. Has anyone ever built anything higher than that on a honda block. And again this is kinda a noob question but I am trying to prove someone wrong. Thanks.

A few of the Honda Hot Rod cars make way over 800+ whp, like Eggumm and Chuck but I've never gone past the 800 WHP mark (still on gas) so I have nothing to show you...sorry.

About 1,500hp. This article says "well over 1,000" http://www.sportnetwork.net/main/s169/st88032.htm

"With the latest turbocharged engines now producing well in excess of 1000bhp (from just 1.5-litres), the sporting authorities sought to counter the ingenuity of F1 engine manufacturers by limiting boost pressure to 4 bar for the 1987 season.

This again forced Honda's technicians to seek new solutions... which they did successfully. With engines now being supplied to Lotus as well as Williams, Honda-powered cars took victory in 11 of the year's 16 races. The high point came at Silverstone where the Honda-powered cars of Mansell, Piquet, Ayrton Senna and Satoru Nakajima completed a 1-2-3-4 clean-sweep."

It didn't say in that article, but I remember reading somewhere else that they were. I could be wrong. Either way it was a 1.5.

The previous engines were V12, it never said those engines were V12's. It said they switched to a 1.5L, which I've heard in other place was an I4.

They were twin turbo V-6,s 1.5 litre. I would have hoped someone here was a Honda fan. BMW made the same numbers with a straight 4 1.5 litre.

that eggums car is pretty impressive damn, but it does look hideous, this is why they shouldnt make full blown fwd drag cars, they always look like freak experiments, tiny wheels in the back big wheels in the front, though i am a fan of the civic no front wheel drive car will ever look going going pro like that...

does that not look ridiculous?

Dude! Who cares what it looks like, your only gonna see it for about 7 seconds at a time. Anything that can rip up a 1/4 mile in 7sec. with a 4cylinder, gotta give them some props. Thats the kinda **** you only read about right there.

Ya I have seen that, that is why I said any honda motor. That is a custom 4liter block. Honda never made a 4 liter 4 cylinder. That thing is pretty crazy tho isn't it.
