Default Best runner for EGT probe

Hey everyone, I am about to install an EGT probe in my car, and was wondering which cylinder runs the leanest on a B18?

... ppl always say #3, and I have no idea why! Is there a reason for this? One would have thought that Honda woulda worked out these little kinks in designing a motor...

mine is in the collector for 3 & 4 right before the downpipe. I was told 1 and 3 are the ones that run lean, but when I did a plug check 3 was the leanest and then 4 was next.

you do not want to have the egt probe farther than 2-3" away from the cyl head.
Otherwise your readings are going to be pretty much useless
