one night after installing the cams i took the car for a test drive and didnt have the cam gear bolts tight.. and boom i bent one of the valves on the head. I just wondering, what other harm could I of done to my engine by doing so?retainers, springs, head, ect is ok, right? I already did a visual check of it and everything esle seemed fine. please help me! I don't want to get any surprises.

sorry for my ignorance, I just want to make sure that I'm doing things right. all I'd need to do is change the valve right? thanks Tech wizes out there.
You probably did only damage the valve. But check the piston for damage. Make sure you didn't dent it or anything. Or punch a hole in it...
valves open in pairs, and the pistons in two cylinders are at TDC at the same time, so you bent at least 4 valves. Most likely, you bent all eight.
You cannot look at the valves by eye, you have to measure to see if they still seat properly. If not, then you have to replace them and reseat them

as i have just bent one valve recently, dont stress hte guy out.
you will need to pull your head to see, take it to a shop and they will be able to tell you, or you can DIY - but need proper tools...
