Default Bearing caps

Ok, lets say I am under my car right now. I have the oil pan off and I am looking at the girdle and everything else. I unbolted the girdle but it is not loose. Also I took the bolts off the bearing caps, and they are not opening to expose the bearing. Why???

alot of times the rod and main caps are stuck on pretty good even if the bolts are off. lets say that you have the bolts removed from the main/rod caps, take the butt of a hammer and hit the caps on each side. repeat each side until you can grab it off.

i hope i helped, because i didn't really understand your question.

torr is right but when he says hit, he means either tap it with a rubber hammer or use a piece of wood, becuase you dont wanna tap it with your metal hammer
