Default battry relocation questionz

I have the battery in my trunk or my crx and now it isnt charging. Im either thinking the alternator decided to retire or i have it wired bad or ground problem. Is it better to ground the battery in the trunk or run a cable back to the engine bay? Also I have the battery cable going to the post on the starter and the wire from the fuse box going to the post with a ring connector on the end instead of splicing it into the cable itself. I also was making my own super stunna ghetto ground kit and added a ground on the closer of the 2 bolts holding the starter in if that matters. I have the battery grounded to the frame of the car on the outside. If the battery isnt grounded well will it not charge? Also the low voltage light isnt even coming on the voltage just gets so low that the car dies. any help would be great thanks

I have mine in my trunk. i just spliced all the wires in the engine bay that used to go to the battery (fuse box. alternator, and something else. there were 3) to the new wire going to the trunk. i just grounded the battery in the trunk where the spare tire used to be, somewhere solid. works fine for me

What gage of wire are you using, if its to small it won't conduct good?

Im using 4 gauge battery cable I got from nappa. I searched and saw most people use 0 or 2 gauge but said 4 would work ok.

ok the 3 wires are like 2 small ones to the fuse box and 1 big one to the alternator/starter. I just cut the terminal off of the 3 wires and spliced a 4 gauge wire to them and ran them to my battery in my trunk. Works for me :-/
