Default Battery Relocation Wire Gauge

Is 0 Gauge absolutely necessary or could I use 4 or 6 Gauge? Also, should I put in an inline Fuse before the Battery or no? If so, what kind of fuse? One of the Inline Fuses thats used when installing A Sound System (Subwoofers) or something else.

Thank You

Ant

0 gauge would be recommended. DO NOT FUSE OFF THE POSITIVE BATTERY POLE. The starter draws over 200A and will blow any fuse you throw in there. All your doing is moving the battery, so all you need is wire for the relocation. Attempt to keep the battery negative ground in the engine bay. This will allow starter current to find its way back to the battery easier.
