Battery Relocation Problem !!! HELLPPPPP !!!
I relocated the battery in my crx to the back about 2 weeks ago and it worked fine until last night. Last night on my way home i heard a eird noise and pulled over. Then i turned the car off but the car kept trying to start up. I disconnected the battery and it stopped trying to start up. I felt the starter/solenoid and it was hot as hell. I looked at the ground on the battery and it looked fine. I unhooked the starter wire and got push started and drove it home. It ran fine on the way home and when i got home i disconnected the postive and the negative on the battery nd the negative terminal was very loose. Today i put a fuse from the power wire to the starter wire then hooked up the battery and it tired to start then the fuse blew. When i did that there was no key in the ignition or anything ,I just connected the battery and it tried to start by itself. WHAT IS MY PROBLEM?!!!!?!!?!?!
i just took the starter out and it smells like burnt *** and is black on the inside , real hard to turn but it turns and when i pulled it out a bunch of little burnt plastic chips fell out of it
Sounds like the internal solenoid is bad. Try whacking it lightly with a hammer (seriously) and see if that unsticks it. I'd go buy a new starter. Take it to an autoparts store, they should have free testing.
I'm guessing that one of the cables running to your battery has been pinched or something and is coming inot contact with the chassis, ******* up your chassis ground.
Also, there are two ground points on teh harness near the starter, one runs to the starter one runs to the top of the engine coolant temp housing. Make sure you didn't reverse these.

As long as your power cable is not open to ground somewhere along the chassis, the rear location should be fine.
Check your harness grounds and make sure your battery ground is sufficent.
Maybe the solenoid stuck during starting...that would burn out the starter.

Ok , i changed the starter out. Now the car will not start up. I turn the key and it doesnt do anything at all. I checked all the fuses in the car and they are good. What else can crap out if a starter burns out???
Now i changed out the ignition switch and it started up. Then i put the intake ,steeering wheel etc. back on and then it is doing the same thing as before , the starter isnt clicking or anything. Why is it doing that? It only started up one time then it won't start agian.

Yes, your experience may help someone else out with a similar problem later on.

WELL???
WELL???
The connection between the power wire , starter wire , and fuse box wasn't good enough.
So I bought some connectors like Fig. C got a bolt to put through the 3 of them and wrapped it with electrical tape. Then the car started right up and hasnt messed up since. I do'nt know what caused the initial problem with the starter though.
