Default battery relocation - downsides?

so im considering moving my battery to the trunk because i want to make a custom intake for the ol car.. and want to see weight shifting advantages from moving it.

outside of fume (which can be removed via pricey *** moroso box) are there any downsides to relocation?
i guess my concerns are:

- ground problems. i'd ground the original negative terminal to the frame, and maybe to engine or alternator or tranny ground as a backup). this this is satisfactory?

- exposed power wire. id prolly run the 12v 1-2gauge wire undner the car. im concerned with heat, dirt, tears, and who knows what else in the city streets. i guess if its tucked/tied up well enough ill be ok, right?

-weight distrtibution. im assuming best place for battery is behind rear seats, slightly to passeger side, but thats inconvienent since i do use the fold down feature. think the right rear corner is ok?

guess thas it.
grassy *** for all replies.

-biggest PIA is checking the timing, unless I am doing that wrong, cause you need a hot source for the timing light.

-should be no probs with ground, just follow the instructions.

-run the wire on the inside of the car and there won't be any tears/dirt form the road. heat is not an issue if you have heavy enough wire.

-personally, I need all the weight I can get on the front wheels, but yes, in the rear pass. side corner of the trunk should be ok. I have seen several located there.

Use the "hot source" from the fuse box inside the engine for your timing gun.

~Run the power cable inside the car instead of outside. You would still have to pass the cable though a body panel either way.
Outside running-hole through trunk floor, etc.
Inside running-hole through firewall
Personally I would still run the cable inside to protect it from abrasions and the elements. Would you want your arteries running outside your skin?
Routing will be easier if you use 1 or 2 gauge car audio cable instead of 1 or 2 gauge welding cable or battery cables. The car audio cable bends with a tighter radius and has less internal resistance.

~Ground the original location to the frame with good clean contacts. Ground the rear battery really well to the frame. Somtimes double grounding it helps, use two ground cables from the battery and connect it to two frame locations.

~Please make sure to use a fuse or cicuit breaker on the power cable. It should be no more than 12-18" from the positive battery post.

~A sealed acid battery will be your best friend. Either a gel cell (Optima) or a sealed lead acid (Optima) battery will eliminate the vent box.

Good luck
