Battery fuse keeps blowing
I've posted the same post around december. But long story short my crx wth lsvtec wouldn't start after I swapped trans. Then the car would crank then blow the battery fuse. I tried different starters unplugged the alternator, checked grounds replace engine harness but kept popping fuses. Gave up and tried a b16 in the car and it started. I rebuilt my lsvtec with ctr bottem end, its a different block from. The first setup then I went to a did trans and intake manifold. Tried to start it and the same problem came back. Never with the b16. Everything is new on the lsvtec but the head, has anybody heard about a sensor doing this or needing more amp from the battery the cranking thanks

Re: Battery fuse keeps blowing
That is a strange problem.
There is no fuse between batt. and starter motor except on the solenoids "trigger" lead.
Does the fuse only blow when cranking to start, or will it blow if ign. switch is left in the run position?
If not, try this, unplug the trigger lead from starter solenoid and do a bypass jump, using a jumper wire with one end connected to the batt. pos.(+) touch the other end to the solenoids trigger terminal.
BE CAREFUL, make sure tranny is not in gear and set the hand brake, engine will turn over even if car is in gear as you have bypassed clutch interlock switch and starter relay. 94

Re: Battery fuse keeps blowing
it only blows during cranking over. If its on ign switch nothing happens. With the b16 I taj the starter alternator and engine harness. So I know those are good, like I said the only thing original I have is the vtec head. Also my battery is relocated with a 2g wire its been probably 3 years with no issues.

Re: Battery fuse keeps blowing
Did you try the bypass jump, you can jump from starter motor batt. connection to the starter solenoid trigger terminal.
Question, re; batt. relocation, what fuse is blowing, is it one you have in the 2ga power cable from batt. to starter motor, if so what size and type is it? 94

Re: Battery fuse keeps blowing
my fuse from the battery relocator wire is blowing before it can reach the 80 amp fuse in the engine bay. in the past ive tried to bypass the relocator like ur saying but no luck also. im going to try a larger fuse and see but no idea what else to do. might have to bring it to a shop!

Re: Battery fuse keeps blowing
You say it is a 2ga power cable, but what size is the fuse and what type of fuse is it and where on the 2ga is it located?
Is the 2ga run from the relocated batt. to the starter motor directly?94

Re: Battery fuse keeps blowing
Chances are that something is grounding out. Check all your wiring again and make sure no parts are fried or shorting out the system. You can run your power wire without a fuse temporarily but don't be too surprised if something heats up, melts or starts on fire.
