Default Basic drag racing tips

Ok guys need some basic tips, I cant seem to lower my times. Here is my setup: 91 EF HB Si with B16a y1 w/LSD. The normal bolt ons, GC coilovers, Fields vtec cont., Spoon cam gears, the usual. I use my rota C8's at the track with yoko AVS tires. No dyno time as of yet so tuning isnt precise. Any suggestions would be great.

ur motor doesn't have enough power to get to the 14's yet...but with traction u can get there...slicks...

u want ur 60 foot around 2.1-2.2 for street tires
and slicks lowerrr that'd bring u close to the high 14's

first of all, lose some tire pressure. this will give you some good traction. i can rev and launch at about 5-5500rpm without any wheelspin at all. second, lose any power accesories (power steering, ac). if you can, dump the front passenger seat, rear seats and emty the trunk. when you launch, drop that ****. dont rev to high, you might start spining a bit. i shift around 7-7500rpms. power shift. i know that is harsh on the clutch, but, you will see the difference when you shift. if you do everyhitng right, you should finish the 1/4 mile in 3rd gear. if you have a vtec controller, set it at about 5900 to kick in. good luck.

MPH sounds good - I get about a 92mph trap, running 15.1-15.0's on average. I have NO boltons, so you're definitely capable of more. My best 60' time so far is a 2.35 or so.

Are you slipping the clutch off the line or just dumping it? You REALLY don't want too much wheelspin off the line... it sounds cool, but you're just slowing yourself down. For example, running by myself, dumping the clutch at 3000 I pulled a 2.408 60'. Running with my girlfriend in the car I slipped the clutch and pulled a 2.3 60'.

If you've got adjustable struts, turn them to full stiff in the back. It can actually knock of a tenth or two...

Well my launch isnt bad but needs improvement. I usually launch at around 3000 rpm with street tires. I cant feel or hear any wheel spin. I have an LSD and ACT clutch so it hooks up good but it is really easy to bog off the line. My prob seems to be feathering the clutch too much. Any recommendations on tire pressure or coilover setup? Does raising the rear end actually benefit? tanks for the info.
