Default Bags on Car Sides

Yes, this is kind of weird but, hear me out first.

I am looking to get side moldings for my 2011 Honda Accord Sedan, but in the meantime I've put black bags along the sides of my car of course in fear that it may get struck by someone opening their door next to my car in a parking lot. The side moldings are supposed to guard against that. Of course bags aren't going to give as much protection, but may help against a mark, if not a ding. Plus my car is black itself, and bought it only a few months ago.

Now my question is...would I get a ticket for this while driving or something? Is it against the law? I live in Maryland and don't know where something like this would be talked about. Of course I'm guessing no, since people put all kinds of stickers, markings, nose masks etc. on their car (I have a nose mask for instance) and all of these are ok. I'm just wondering if these bags would be a problem. They're completely flat alongside my doors and taped, and not flapping in the wind while driving, if anyone reading thought it was like that.

Thanks for the help & answers.
