well the other day i was driving my wagon and it got hot. so i stop and look around a bit..well the lower hose was cold..so i think to myself bad thermostat WRONG
i put 1 in and dose the same ****..so got another new one same thing.. then i take out the T-stat all together and the the water flows in the rad fine then. so what im thinking is that the fins are not spinning enough to push the water past the T-stat after it opens.. what you think??

T-stat in backwards?
T-stat gasket farbed up so it obstructs flow?
Garbage-brand T-stat?? Try OEM...
It's possible for the blades of the waterpump to be corroded away, but it's not real likely. So you want to rule out anything else before you spend a day removing the waterpump.

Hard to imagine what makes a waterpump fail. After all it's just a wheel with blades. Long-term corrosion is about it. Failed waterpump bearings make noise & are obvious from the pulley rattling around.
On OEM anyway, the T-stat gasket has a split in the inside, so it fits over the edge & covers both sides of the T-stat. If you use it like an O-ring on only one side, I imagine it can obstruct the T-stat action?

A non-OEM waterpump isn't always bad.

Not a bit. It only started to act like the t-stat was stuck or broken...and I did also replace it with one of those "no fail" ones. So I know that wasnt it. I'm betting this is wrong with yours too. The machine shop I took my head to said hondas often run for years on blown head gaskets and don't show any symptoms. Mine had two blown cylinders when it was all apart...and it never smoked a BIT!

mmmm stroganoff.
You know it doesn't take much of a surface imperfection on the head for it to go. Especially on your aftermarket HG, that aren't as forgiving as your everyday Fel-Pro gaskets. I always used Fel-pros copper HG on all my performance apps with no problems ever, but I never ran one on a Honda motor, but if it is available I would definitely look into it. They were specifically designed for use on V-8 supercharged applications. But I'd check the head for warpage as well.

The machine shop I took my head to said most honda heads need to be resurfaced when the headgasket blows. He said mine was out a bit but it didn't take very much to be taken off of it to make it perfect. I'd suggest getting the head shaved a bit to make sure it isn't warped...only costs like $40 + cleaning.
If I remeber correctly he had .005 taken off the head, and used ARP studs. To have actual mixture in with the oil to the point he sees the stroganoff, considering how long he's been runnin the set-up it would have had to either been a small leak from the beginning that eventually overcame the mixture, or a major blow near a water port that recently happened. I've pulled heads on D series before with cylinders filled and nothing in the oil.
