Default Bad timing belt

Ok last night I was drivin, I had left a restaurant, I wasnt gettin on my car at all but all the sudden it started running real shitty, its started pinging at around 2200 rpms, and the exhaust tone sounded deeper, and was boging out.......I went home at abut 40mph and when I got home took a look. Come to find out, teeth were missing on the timing belt, you can actually pull teeth off. Anyway, could anything be messed up due to this, the car is parked for now........I already had plans to do a head gasket next week when the my gasket and head studs come in. Obviously the timing is off, just want to know if I could have messed anything else up......?

what motor?

your t-belt is passed due on being replaced...you need to replace t-belt,d-belts,w-pump crank and snout seal while your in there... maybe even the tensioner....

there is a possiblity for some bent valves, depending on what engine you have...or how much the timing went off...just make sure you dont run it anymore. Check the valves while the head is off...

Its a 96 Gsr motor.....type r pistons, type r cams, 3 angle valve job, ported & polished head, Crower valve springs with titanium retainers, and str adjustable cam gears. Anyway the timing belt only has about 25k on it....I pulled the head, all valves seem to be fine, Ill be taking the head to get resurfaced and checkd for warpage, but everything seems to be ok, as soon as it started acting up I stopped driving it. Now I just have to wait on my head gasket and head studs to come in. I have to take a trip to the honda dealer to order a new timing belt, intake manifold gasket, and valve cover gasket. Im also goin to order new cam seals and i need to get a gasket for the header. Any sugestions on what brand to go with on these items?

Get all stock honda parts...

Was anything loose/bolts sticking out around the timing belt or anything like the covers rubbing on the belt itselt.. I can't beleive a 25k belt would just shread like that without anything actually causing it to do so..

if your timing belt was missing teeth, i definitely think it jumped time and could very well have bent some valves...my car jumped time once and right when it happened i turned the car off and pushed it home and it still had 2 bent valves... as for the belt having such low mileage on it...something was lose. check your tensioner when you replace your belt. go with a stock honda belt.
