Default Help on wiring up a fan toggle switch?

I have a 91 Accord and the fans only turn on when I shut the car off. I replaced the fan module and same thing happens. So I know the fans work, theres just probably a short somewhere, so I want to just wire a toggle switch straight to the fans to turn them on/off when I want. I am horrible with wiring so any help would be appreacited. First off I dont know what wires to go to or how to get into any of this. Please help. Thanks in advance.

The fan switch in your thermostat housing should be responsible for turning on the fan when the engine's running. With the key on, unplug that & jumper the plug with a paperclip or something. That should make the fans run.

If that doesn't work, you've got a wiring problem to fix, before your toggle switch is gonna work.

If it works, then get a simple switch, run a pair of wires out to the engine. Connect one wire to each of the wires on that same plug. Leave them also connected to the original fan switch, for the times when you don't remember to use your new switch...

You mean on the coolant temp. sensor? Just jumper that clip?

Well, I don't have a '91 so maybe I'm confused. I hope someone with a '91 chimes in here.

I looked on hondaautomotoveparts.com but didn't really find what I'm looking for. I expected to see 2 sensors in the thermostat housing, one for the ECU & the other is a fan switch. Maybe they did something different that year?

What I said to do is for the fan switch. Once we actually find where it's located...

I sorta remember someone saying the fan switch was on the back of the block for some years? Maybe on the back of the head? But it's probably not real swift to randomly unplug stuff & jumper the wires together...

It's pretty certain that the on on the UPPER radiator hose nozzle is a fan switch. If you unplug that & jumper the wires, does the fan run (with the key on)? If so, you can use that one for your switch. Otherwise, you'll have to find a wiring drawing for your year or get a repair manual.

I'm not too far away from Akron...
