check to see if the drive gear for the sensor is in the trans, it's on the diff, should be able to see it with a flash light or feel for it with a screw driver.

happened to me, had a after market diff install and the shop forgot to install the drive gear on the diff, so i had to pull out the trans again, not cool. this was prelude trans, similar?

yea the drive gear sensor is in the trans, that is the piece that I just purchased...all of that is new, except the cable and possibly needs a new fuse but i have no idea where to find the fuse for my VSS..

I have the same trouble. My tacho is working though. I cleaned the plugs, also took apart the upper part of the sensor and cleaned. But no luck so far

i just replaced mine on my 00 si. works fine. but one of the techs at my work told me if it wasnt the speed sensor the speedo part of the cluster could have gone bad. was it bouncing around at all or just flat out quit working?

It hasnt been working since i bought the car so I cant tell you what happened once it died out..or if it was ever working to begin with, It has a swapped motor and wiring harness so im replacing the wire harness with a brand new one, hopefully thatll do the trick.

Id say you have a bad speedometer. Early to mid 90s Hondas (All models) have cluster issues.
