Is bad to run in open loop all the time?
I just got a hondata set up and trying to start my car, but when i do, it starts better in open loop then it does in closed loop? But the car runs very rich in open loop and back fires every couple of minutes but it runs smoothly but when its in closed loop it hesitates and jerks when i give it part throttle

just sounds like you need more tuning in your closed loop setup. I beleive youll be fine, as far as I know, closed loop is for saving gas anyway. correct me if im wrong.

When it is open loop you will get horrible gas milage because it does not use feedback to control fuel delivery hence you run really rich...i have a mugen prog that runs in open loop all the time and my gas milage sux. So i would say that you have some tuning issues...or possibly one of your sensors is malfunctioning...its not necessarily bad but your gas milage will be
