Is this bad, really bad or really really bad?
This pertains to an SVT Focus and not a Honda, but same difference. I received my Screamin' Demon coil and Livewire plug wires today. Hooray! Hotter spark on the way! Gather tools and whatnot, and go to install... Lo and behold one of the four Torx screws holding the stok coil is stripped! Too late to go to Sears for one of those handy-dandy stripped screw giblet things, but I go ahead to pull the plugs and wires. I had to use a BREAKER BAR to get my plugs loose. Either the last service didn't include anti-seize or some idiot way overtorqued them. Now for the fun part - the #1 plug threads were COVERED in oil. Dripping. Now I'm thinking overtorqued, and the only person who has touched those plugs was the guy at the shop where I took it to have it checked before buying it (ironic, huh).

Re: Is this bad, really bad or really really bad? (Chairman Kaga)
spark plug grommets look OK?
Try and use a new plug, see if the threads have been damaged. if they are fine, then I would point to plug grommets letting oil seep by. Was there any oil on the electrode area?
Regardless, they shouldn't be THAT hard to remove. Just make sure to use anti-seize of any kind and some dielectric grease when re-installing.
