bad oil leak problem
I took my car to a shop today after noticing large puddles of oil underneath. When they took a look at it they told me that it was the oil filter housing and some black box behind the oil filter(not sure what this is). Anyone know what the price would be to fix this and if it would be best to take it to honda dealer. Thanks the car is a 2000 acura integra gsr
Ok thanks alot I will try this tomorrow. Any ideas on what the "black box" might be behind the oil filter? they told me there was a leak or something from there aswell.
the black box is for crankcase ventalation. if anything its coming from your oil filter gasket and dripping onto your block. or else its a headgasket but i doubt it since you would notice something wrong if oil was leaking majorly from your motor like that
sounds like a double gasket on the oil filter. you need to get that fixed asap and check your oil level often to make sure it isnt getting low. no oil = engine destroyed
