Default Bad O2 sensor with race gas?

I think I killed my primary O2 sensor today.
As I was driving the CEL came on, I went home and checked it and it was CEL #1 (bad O2 sensor). I also noticed the RPM surging from almost 0 rpm to 1000 rpm. The RPM would drop so low that I thought the car was going to stall but it never did. The strange thing is that on my way home from work the surging stopped and It idles perfect.
I put like 3 gallons of race gas (DP 114 i think) in it when I went racing because there were no gas stations in the area and I NEEDED gas to get to one. Once I found one I filled the rest of the tank with regular.
That night I went racing I also bent a few valves, but that's fixed now. But the same tank of gas was in the car. Once the car was fixed I drove around on that tank of gas until it was empty so I could fill it up with some nice premimum. Well I got a full tank of premimum last night but this morning on my way to work the CEL came on. My question is...Does anybody think that the race gas that I had in the tank caused the sensor to go bad? Also since it stopped surging could the sensor have fixed itslelf? Is this even possible?

sounds like it was leaded..in which case, yes, your O2 is a goner, and perhaps your main cat as well..

Get AAA and call them to bring you some gas next time.

I think that all gas over c10 is leaded...or is it over 100?

Lead will certainly screw your sensor...I guess that's the price you pay

VP has a 103 octane unleaded (motorsport 103)

sunoco has a 104
