o2 sensors and race gas
well heres the deal , when i drive my car around real slow and dont get on it much i get a cel after getting on it hard for the first time, i pulled the code and it is #1 wich is a malfunctioning o2 sensor, there is only like 3500 miles on the o2, and i run c-12 all the time, so for you guys that use race gas alot does this happen to you?

well, change the sensor, run 93, and if still comes on, then your tuner needs to fix it (assuming your running hondata)

Re: o2 sensors and race gas (Mase)
it never came on at all with my pump gas tune, but when i put race gas in it came on with the pump gas tune, sence then i have had the car tuned for race gas and it still comes on, so i was woundering if it had any thing to do with the lead in the gas, and btw it is one of the bosch sensors if that helps

if the sensor is shot, then yes it could be, but i have a feeling its in the hondata tune especially since u said when u switch chips it happens....they probably dont have the correct parameters set. take it back to whoever tuned it and have them fix it correctly.

yup, very possible. lead chews up o2 sensors. but still u can turn off the o2 circuit regardless so u wont get any codes....

when it throws the o2 code does that hurt performance? and what do must people do when they run race gas? but i only drive the car like 2 times a week so i run the gas all the time,

is the c12 leaded???
if so, the lead gets on the pouros surface of the O2 ceramic, wich is supposed to read tha amount of oxygen, and once its clogged, the sensor is dead...
maybe thats why its dead

Re: o2 sensors and race gas (TurboChrgd_Civic)
like how shortened should it be? and pluse not being tuned and running the race gas for the first time it was running real rich so that might have killed it?

i usually dont use o2 feedback on the cars i tune, i completely tune the whole entire fuel map correctly to target perfect AFR's most tuners dont, they may get it somewhere close where most people wont be able to tell the difference, so im not sure what your tuner did. but normally i turn o2 feedback off anyways.
if its running rich at any part of the map, id get it retuned....
