bad mileage, sputtering acceleration, backfire...help please!
check your vacuum lines, not the MAP sensor itself. I have the EXACT problem since i put in my crower 404's. make sure the lines arent cracked, either. MAP sensors usually dont just go bad. Of course, it maight have gone bad....how much was this guy boosting?
6.5-8 lbs I think...not too much...
I'll check that out...btw, I realized that there wasn't a seal under the MAP sensor, it didn't fix it with my sensor (when I put a seal in), but I just borrowed another sensor to try, I'll let you know...

(or leaking injectors in an extreme case)
dude, try to swap your MAP sensor with someone elses and see if that fixes it.
if it doesnt then you could have a broken connection between the MAP sensor and the ECU...

I used another MAP sensor, and the same **** happens...
Checked all the vaccuum lines, and they look new...
So it must be the wiring I guess...any reconmendations on where I should start? Check all of the wires between the MAP and the ECU? thanks.

threw some fuel injector cleaner in there, ran it all through and the gas mileage is better (not perfect, but better)....
again, any suggestions on the wiring? maybe I should just dive in and see if everything looks plugged in? thanks

yeah, a visual inspection should be first... look for breaks, cuts or simply unpluged wires... make sure hte ECU connection is in firm and not damaged etc...
you say converted top OBD1 - with a harness or what?
it woudl be a place to check too...
