Bad Idle
Hello i have a D16z6 motor in my civic and the idle on the motor revs up and down by itself. It revs from 800 rpm to 1800-1500 RPM over and over. I think its the throttle body. I tryed cleaning it from inside but nothing. Im also thinking the Intake Manifold is dirt from inside also. Does anybody have an Idea what the problem could be. Thanks for any efford.
x2 could be the fitv, maybe iacv. Either one has a ton of info if you do a search.
Also, have you had anything in your engine bay disconnected/taken apart lately?
I'm just thinking you might have a vacuum leak. Take either brake clean or carb cleaner and spray it around all your vacuum hoses and any mating surfaces (IM gasket, TB gasket, etc). If the idle changes when you go over a certain spot, you've found a leak.

No, it wouldn't be anything with the throttle body. And NO, your intake manifold being dirty wouldn't cause such a thing.
Try cleaning out your FITV. It's basically connected to the manifold. Here's a link:

There also could be a big chance that there is a leak somewhere like seanbev24 said.
My friend has this same exact issue as well with his d16...... weird.
