Bad allignment due to tie rod??
I have a question for you guys. heres a little background info. I just had my car alligned 3 weeks ago and all 4 of my tires have inner wear on them. I had an allignment plan that last 6 months so I decided to take it back to. They put me under warranty because I came back with less than 500 miles since the allignment. They called me and told me that my tie rods are old and worn and they cannot adjust an allignment correctly because the adjustments wont stay where they put it. Is this true? I know its kind of hard to understand what I am saying, but bare with me. I tried to search, but didnt come upon anything that was similar to my situation. So I am wondering can having old tie rods cause inaccuracy in adjustments settings.
Tie rods are how you adjust the front toe. If they're bad and won't hold the settings your alignment won't stick.
Luckily they're an easy fix and not super expensive. I'm sure theres some DIYs on here somewhere.
