B20b swap problems
I have a 2000 civic ex took out the y8 that was in originally put in the b20b and it doesn't seem to run right the fuel pump doesn't seem to kick on but it worked before doing the swap I hear the with putting a dual cam in you have to add extra wires is any of this true please any info will help
There may be a possible distributor tooth difference, I think I read about this before. The number of teeth inside the distributor of the B20 and the old motor may not be the same and the computer connot snycronize right. I could be wrong, but I say again; Ithink I remember reading this before. Just a thought. Good luck.
Check wiring to PGM-FI Main Relay, check/redo thermostat ground(s).
Do a feel/listen test, drop the PGM-FI Main Relay and hold it as you turn on the ign. switch to the run position, [not all the way to start], you should feel/hear two(2) clicks, they are very close together so may feel/sound like one click.
After no more then a few sec. there should be a 3rd click at the same time the CEL should go out.
If the above is not happening, you will need a 12V test light, [not LED type] to do some testing at the PGM-FI Main Relay. 94
