b20b bearing problems
i sent my b20b block to the machine shop to bore 0.20 over. and also to weld in my block guard from kms. when i got my block back from the shop. i started the assembly. i bought all brand new bearings from our honda dealer...which was....4 the mains it was grn, grn, brn, grn, grn...well any ways as i installed the crank, i checked the clearance with plasti-gauge...#1 cap was .03 #2- #5 was .0008- .0015
# 2-5 i thought was ok... i removed all the plasti-gauge and desided to go on with the assembly... wen i finished torqueing the mains with the 2 steps of torqueing.. i tryed to spin the crank ..it didnt want to spin.. now i was worried....so i desided to figure out which main was locking up.. i found out #1 was locking up.. before all of this, this engine was running in eg bout a month ago.. the old bearing looked very good...it was still useable...there was no excessive wear noticed... so i was wondering if anybody had this problem before.................im suspecting that my machinest gave the wrong main cap!!!!!!!!!!!!
