Default b20 vtec... help needed

have a b20/gsr head. it runs good most of the time but on ocassion it will start sputtering (around 4k) but i can feather the throttle and it will all the suden stop sputtering around 4500/ 5k rpm. it mostly happens on the freeway when im in fifth gear, i can downshift and it goes through the powerband fine. also somtimes when im at idle will bounce and sputter out. im changing plugs, wires, and cap this weekend. anyone had this problem? any advice welcome.

well i should have enough money this payday to get my ignition taken care of as well as some new injectors + seals. any ideas on what size would be ideal for my setup? i would like somting that would be plug and play due to the fact i dont have a ecu to tune it yet. i dont mind if they will need to be upgraded at a later date i just need somting to keep my hatchie running good. gsr cams/ stock b20b block/ will be installing my skunk2 intake mani/ stock gsr throttle body/ gsr header / crowder springs and retainers./ bdl fuel rail (no regualtor yet). would 310 cc be to big?

i was guessing it was ignition/ injectors/ or a valve sticking . everything will be replaced eventually but just like many of us times are hard and $$$ is tight.

i know these are some noobish questions but thank you for your replies
