Default b20/vtec dilema

I can get my hands on a b20z for a great deal... now the question is...what do ppl rev these motors to safely. I mean the sleeves crack because of what they are made out of. And yea you can SLEEVE THE BLOCK but still over time the rod to stroke ratio with eventually eat your piston rings....bottom line is ....how reliable is this thing...and im looking forward to atleast rev 8k or more.

If i were you dont get a b20..the reason I say this is because the walls are to thin to even try and sleeve..If I were you Id get a b18B block sleeve that, then get a b16 or gsr head its all your preference...but thats the best way you can go since sleeving a b20 block wouldnt be all that good..thats just my $0.02

that costs a lot of money to do. The best thing to do is get a b16 for a good price and later on build a gsr bottem end. And when your done building the GSR bottem end then you slap your b16 head on there and call it a day. BTW tobe you know who owns that b16 now. And you know he takes car of that motor. When you buy that b20 you have no clue how long its going to last you. That b16 will be way more reliable. And you told me yourself that you want your car to be reliable.

robert if you buy that sleeved block you will never have a motor swap. You will eventually give up because of the money you have wasted. Im telling you if you buy the b16 you'll be content for now and later you can build an ls block on the side. And when the ls block is done then you slap your b16 head on it and call it a day. If you dont buy that b16 it will be one of the biggest mistakes you could make.(when it comes to your car) A deal like the deal your getting doesnt come around everyday.

Think about it!
