Re: b20/vtec (widebodyEg16B)
from the little research that i have done on this,it is almost mandatory to have the blcok resleeved if you are gonna up the compression and mate it with a vtec head because the b20 cylinder walls are very weak. Due to the bad rod/stroke ratio, you connecting rod is a little horizontal when the it should be vertical causing stress on the cylinder wall and eventually the walls become oval rather than round.

Re: b20/vtec (widebodyEg16B)
From my short experience and knowledge with my B20/vtec I would say you can most def. mate the B16 head and the B20b block with ease. Just make sure you use ARP headbolts (studs..whatever) to keep everything together. Just don't rev it to high. If I had the money at the moment I would most def. build the block to withstand some high compression. I have no idea about the long term reliability of these motors stock. I have a friend, Tony, though who ran the **** out of one for a year until he put a 55 shot of nitrous into it and blew it up in 2 runs down the track.

not true, block sleeves are thick put there one piece design makes them weaker, it is perfectly safe to run a stock block, as long as you dont rev above 8200 your all good. I know my car has that setup.

Whoawhoawhoa... your friend drove stock B20 internals on a 55-shot like Evil Knieval?!
"This is Tony. Tony doesn't have access to Honda-Tech. Tony leans out his engine with lack of information, improper fuel management and a healthy shot of nitrous. For just 50 cents a day, you can help Tony save for a computer, or pay for a cab to the library to use the Internet. Please, Tony needs Honda-Tech, and Tony needs your support."
Umm yea, tell your friend about Honda-Tech. He needs us.
