Default B20 vs. bored/stroked ls

i plan on either bulding a b20 or stroking and ls out to around a 2.0L. I will be building this motor all motor with stage 2 or 3 valve train. I want to have at least a 100 shot of nitrous also. I am just wondering which block would stronger/more reliable.

Sleeve the block and run it as a b20 with a good set of rods and pistons.
Then you got to setup the nitrous and fuel systems...
getting someone to build it right and tune it right will be your bigest hurdle...

All motor with nitrous? Are you planning to run a low compression engine with nitrous or a high compression all motor engine with nitrous? Nitrous wont be too good for a high compression engine.

if your going to to have stage 2,3 vlave train your wanting to rev. and if your reving you need high compression to make power. so sleeve a b20, get a set of eagle rods and forged pistons. if you want a high compression motor, do a progressive controlled direct port nitrous kit. do it right. buy the right stuff and take your time on this.

Nitrous LOVES high compression.

To the OP: I would expect that a bored/stroked B18 to a 2L would be a stronger block, due to the sleeve design. If you are planning on sleeving the block, then it doesn't really matter which block you start with as far as I know.

What would it take to do this? I have a b20 and a b18a1. I was planning to just hone out the b18 block and put all of my b20 guts into it. crank, pistons ect. (that way the block says it a 1.8, even tho it would be 2.0. SLEEPER!!)
What does it take to do this?

you can't "hone" it out to 84mm. you'll have to sleeve it. the cranks are the same.

Do this and you won't have to worry about it http://www.laskeyracing.com/shop/sleeving.htm ...... I'm sending my spare LS block to Benson and having it bored and sleeved to a 85mm and 12.5:1 compression... you get this, rods, pistons, good valve train, and most importantly, a fine tuned WET kit!!! Even if it's direct port... make sure you have a fuel solenoid and fuel jets/jet... a lot of dumbass' spray the dog ***** out of their motors with just a dry shot....with a dry shot, your pretty much depending on your fuel system to support the spray.... with a fuel jet, it act as an injector for the sparay... wet is SAFER!!! LOL, no don't judge me here... but I had a Ford Focus back in the day, and on stock EVERYTHING... I was spraying 150 shot daily, and every once in awhile, snuck in the 200 pills... But I was spraying 150 shot in traffic!!! hahahaha.... but, it was DYNO TUNED.... don't just shuv pills in the nozzles and call it a day.... My car was tuned stupid rich!!! The worse that happen was I missed a gear, it hick upped, and luckily the focus has a plastic intake manifold, cause it just blew a huge hold in the manifold,lol.... if it were metal, it would have gone into my valve train,lol.... But nothing else happened to it, other than that.... I had so much fuel running that kit, that my car would stall after I parked it after each race,lol.... basically... nitrous is safe if you know about it, or know someone that knows about it.... In my case, my buddy William owned Nitrous Technologies back in the day, here in Atlanta... and he knew his nitrous set ups.... I got free refills, so I was spraying ALLL the damn time... my other Buddy owned Engineered Performance as well... so I was always on the dyno, tuning it.... Basically... what I'm saying... nitrous is not a quick fix to go fast... it's like anything, turbo,N/A, blower, whatever,... you HAVE to tune it!! Get the A/F ratio right!!! After that... enjoy the hell out of it... I did... and might I remind you... a Ford Focus is a TURD w/o spray, so you can imagine I sprayed the ***** out of that car out of boredom hahahaha!!! Now, high compression loves nitrous, BUT, 100 shot on a high compression motor, is A LOT more for a high compression motor than a low compression.... note:my focus comes stock with 9.6:1 compression, cause they have turbos in Europe, so I had room to play with... but with a good tune and good build, you'll be fine.... I'm not trying to sound like a know it all or anything... just giving you my experience with nitrous.... and I love it.... and there is a safe way to use it... DO NOT DRY KIT IT!!! TUNE IT!!! that's it.... it's fun when you feel safe!!! Good Luck man... I plan on spraying my DA once I get the motor built and finished.... CHEERS

Awsome! thanks. i did not know that. im new to the whole honda thing. Been an infiniti guy for years.

And Hey, Nothing wring with long msgs. the longer it is, the more information is in there to learn!!

So is there more posible power out of the b20 block or the b18 block? I was thinking they would be the same.
The main reason i want to use the b18 block is cuz my car is reffed for a b18. i dont need any more tickets...

obviously the bigger displacement is better for power potential. but if you sleeve the b18 thats going to be a stronger block, and if you bore that out to 84mm you have a b20.

you can't put a b20 in a car in cali anyway. truck motor.
