Default is the b20 a freewheeling engine?

I ask because im afraid that the tming belt might have skipped nad is a tooth off. Even if it is, would the piston hit the valves in a 2001 CRV engine?

Pretty much all Honda engines are interference. (I thought freewheeling was something completely different.)

Just being off 1 or 2 teeth you may be OK. A compression test should tell you if any valves are bent.
