B20 Blocks
which one of the b20 blocks has the weak sleeves is it the b20b or b20z.also which one can i use with a set of pistons and rods and boost it maybe 25psi with out it cracking the sleeves,if so has anyone ever attempted this.
All B's have crap sleeves, you might be able to run a conservative 6psi on a stock block. But whats the point of swapping internals if your **** is going to blow up and destroy them? Just spend the dough to get it sleeved. Ls block is a better choice for boost if you are on a budget. But no block is going to take 25psi without a good set of sleeves, at least for more than a couple runs down a track. A good resource for B20 info is B20vtec.com.
actually that is not true at all.
if you get a b16 or b18 block and run forged internals and low compression with stock sleeves. you could push 16+psi in it even with revitivly higher compression pistons you are still looking at a block that could take 400whp MAX.
if you want over 400whp you need some sleeves.
but even at 350whp you are looking at probably 120mph trap speeds. you dont always need a huge ammount of HP to run a fast quarter
