Default B20 block with B18B/A head?

Would a B20 equipped with a B18B head be a good cheap little engine for torque? Since you won't need to rev it high using the B18B head would this be a worthy swap for a beater? Does the B20 have enough compression to make the 140hp of the B18B up top? Thanks in advance.

If I'm not mistaken the b18b and b20 use the same heads...eh I could be mistaken though

So why does the CRV make less power? Different cams?

its choked by the intake and exhaust manifolds. put an ls intake manifold and header on there and it will breath alot better. saw a dyno of a b20 making roughly b16 hp and assloads more torque(dyno posted on this site). its a great motor that just needs to breath better.

That is true,
I dynoed my JDM b20b with just an intake (short ram and half *** exh and GSR header and it put down 135 whp and 120 wtq.
I just installed a Skunk2 intake manifold and soon a JG header. Should have close to 145 WHP

Same as a B18 A/B/C

......Active Aero, I find it amazing that you are asking this question!

Doesn't it have a slightly different deck height and piston bore size along with a different crank? Seems to me there would be a possible weight difference between the two even if it was extremely small.

same crank, rods, and block
different pistons and sleeves.
maybe slightly heavier, probably negligible

Actually, the B18C will be heavier than the other 2 due to its more massive construction.
