i can't figure out why my car redline at 6500 vtec does kick in around 5k-5.5k. and than it redlines at 6500 ? it suppose to redline at 7500 im running a jdmp13 ecu on a usdm h22a1 motor.. could this be the problem?

That ecu should work fine. JDM ecus do have a speed limiter at around 115 mph. You sure vtec is kicking in and its not the secondary intake runners you hear/feel? R u throwing any codes? What year is the motor? Im not familiar with OBDII engines b/c Ive never dealt with them but I think some of the sensors on the new motors are a little different.
