B18c1 to 2.0l...worth it???
I currently have a B18C1 and am debating on resleaving it to 84mm to create essentially a 2.0l for a N/A settup. My question is will the motor then have A LOT more potential being 2liters?I figure it is a substantial investment going to 84mm considering the sleeving, pistons, and rods...will I just have then joined the 2 liter crowd or actually done something to make my car FASTER in every aspect.Given 2 motors with the same mods/compression, only one being 1.8l and the other being2.0l will it make the car substantially FASTER.I know it will make slightly more power/torque.My question is will it be much faster. Please no talking out your *** in your replies.Inteligent/experienced replies will be much appreciated.
yes the motor will make more power. But with more displacement you will also need to upgrade the fueling as well. the overall outcome of making it a 2.0l will be about 15+whp. I have a friend that increases the displacement on the motor and gained 18whp. later he upgraded the injectors and program and mad a total of 23whp over his 1.8l configuration.

Would it be safe to run the 2.0l config. temporarily with the stock injectors and a FPR?With a 12:1 comp?
I temporarily used 98 Prelude injectors, eventually buying some RC units.

If you have the time to tweak/learn and the money to do it right the setup would be soooo totally worth it. You could see mid 200s to the wheels with about 140-160TQ as well. granted, this is totally re-engineering the motor so expect to be in it about every 6months to a year to inspect the bearings... especially if you drive it the way you would want to... 12-13s in your integra with about 200 lbs of fat removed with an ITR tranny would not be out of the ballpark. tuned properly... you could still see 20-25mpg also. I would do more research and plan on doing it. Only remember this is not plug and play you will need to do your homework... talk to Halo, he also has a 2L 85mm car, last time we spoke he tuned his GSR motor on stock cams to 223/152 at the wheels.

I want to do this with my GSR block next year, but will never probably dedicate to it. It is a big project and big money.
It would probably be okay to temporarily use a FPR with stock injectors. An increase in displacement creates a more or less constant increase in fuel requirement across the whole RPM range.
Like I sais everyone I know that it'll make more power but will that make MUCH of a difference in terms of speed like in 0-60 and out of corners on a track? For example what I am looking for is say I race a car in a straight and the person always pulls a car length on me ...will going 2.0l now turn the tables?

low end torque provided by the bigger motors will be what gets you moving.. th ehigh rpm horspower of a CTR motor is great on a race-circuit, but a bigger displacement motor will beat it (just might not last as long at 9000 rpm as a 1.6L)
do the math, more TQ EVERYWHERE... same gearing what do you think
will be self evident. its like putting 4-6 lbs of turbo on your engine if you
tune it right
thats the diff we are talking about 150 tq to the wheels
by 6K rpm, keeping 130 of it to 8K on stock cams. still interested?
